Introduction

This week, we examine a few of the theories of public policy and politics. Remember that we use

theories to analyze how policy is made. More than one theory will often apply to a decision. Some of

the more common theories are:

•    Elite Theory

•    Group Theory

•    Institutional Theory

•    Rational choice Theory

•    Political System Theory
