The article that you select must be a qualitative article (mixed methodologies or comprehensive reviews (articles that review other articles) will not be accepted). It is best to select an article using grounded theory, phenomenology, or ethnography. These will be the easiest types of articles to critique. Pay attention to the rubric: This is not a summary of the article- but instead, it is a critique of the research methodology used in the article. You will need to critique the sample, data collection, data analysis, whether the author developed your trust in their process (by showing connections between the raw data and final outcomes), and the internal/ external validity of the article. Note: Upload the article reviewed in your paper with your submission.
When you write your paper, set it up as in the rubric:
- An introduction specifying your question/topic
- Then move into the critique/evaluation of THE article
- Then summarize your overall opinion of the quality of the data on the topic and provide a conclusion/ discussion on the merits of the research in this area.
PLEASE USE RUBRIC AS GUIDE
