Step 1
Read one set of the following papers. This site will help you get started on selecting a set of Federalist papers.
Once you are in this site, you will see the Federalist papers listed, 1 through 85. Click the ones that match up to the topics areas below. Be aware that these papers were written in the late 1700s after the Revolutionary War. So, take your time reading them because they are presented in the original late 1700s way of speaking and writing.
Federalist No. 10 and Anti-Federalist No. 14: The nature of union and the role of factions (political parties).
Federalist No. 84 and Anti-Federalist No. 84: The protection of liberty and the need for a Bill of Rights.
Federalist No. 51 and Anti-Federalist No. 47: The nature and role of a system of checks and balances.

Some in-text references to the background readings (APA formatting not required).
The essay should address each element of the assignment. Remember to support your answers with solid references including the background readings.
